Monkey Mood is a fully plant-based restaurant and cocktail bar in the Saint-Michel district of Bordeaux, at 11 Rue Camille Sauvageau. Founded in 2019 by Jenny, who drew on flavours discovered while working in Bali, the kitchen serves Indonesian-inspired vegan cooking on a small menu that changes weekly. Regulars come for the jackfruit nasi goreng, gado gado bowls, jackfruit and veggie burgers, and a peanut butter brownie. Sunday brings a set brunch with Jamu Jamu turmeric juice, savoury and sweet pancakes and bowls. The colourful two-level space is furnished with brocante finds and has a summer terrace facing the Saint-Michel spire.
