Unkai is an Asia Fusion sushi restaurant and bar in the western district of Freiburg, at Ellen-Gottlieb-Straße 18. The kitchen blends Japanese and Korean influences, with sushi and sashimi prepared by dedicated sushi masters alongside creative fusion plates and Cantonese dim sum. The signature format is an all-you-can-eat for 33.90 euro: over 80 freshly made dishes ordered from a tablet and brought to your table, not a buffet. Beyond maki, nigiri and sashimi you will find bao buns, tempura and wok dishes, plus a wide vegetarian and vegan selection (edamame, miso aubergine, king oyster mushrooms, pak choi, nori tofu). The room is done in warm colours and a modern design. Open evenings on weekdays and from midday at weekends.
