About Joshua Helman

Joshua Helman took the long road through biochemistry before medicine: a bachelor's at Harvard (magna cum laude), a master's at the University of Cambridge, then his MD through Harvard Medical School and MIT. He is board-certified in both Emergency Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine and licensed in 14 US states. After roughly twenty years of clinical practice, much of it in emergency rooms, he shifted from treating crises to preventing them. He helped run a clinic in Tampa for six years focused on reversing Alzheimer's dementia, worked on medically supervised fasting at TrueNorth Health Center, and served as Medical Director of the Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach. Today he is Chief Medical Officer of BrainPower Clinics in Boynton Beach and of Alzheimer's Treatment Centers of America. His approach is plant-based and root-cause first: nutrition, fasting, toxin and mold exposure, and lifestyle change rather than symptom management. Each week he hosts the Alzheimer's Breakthrough podcast, talking with researchers and practitioners about cognitive decline and what can be done about it. In February 2026 he opened the first Longevity Miami event in Coral Gables with the keynote "Reversing Alzheimer's — What 6 Years of Clinical Work Revealed".
