SHADY Oriental Restaurant is a Palestinian and Levantine restaurant in Leipzig's Zentrum-Sued, at Koernerstrasse 2 near the city centre. The owner cooks home-style recipes from his native Nazareth and personally sources the spices there. The kitchen is fully halal and alcohol-free, built around mezze such as grape leaves (Warak Enab), pomegranate salad with walnuts, hummus, legumes and grilled vegetables, alongside aged lamb croquettes, grilled lamb liver and, on advance order, stuffed sea bream. An Oriental breakfast buffet runs the first Sunday of each month and on Advent Sundays by reservation. Catering and private events for 30 or more guests are available.
