What is Longevity Vienna?+
Longevity Vienna is the free Vienna group of an international longevity community, and inside Austria it runs as the Vienna chapter of Longevity Austria. We meet for talks, workshops and open meetups about healthspan, prevention and self experiments that stay close to the evidence. Nobody pays anything and nobody needs a background in biology. A typical evening puts clinicians, researchers, founders and complete beginners in the same room. You will find us through the events feed on this site, through Meetup, or in the Vienna WhatsApp group.
Is Longevity Vienna a longevity club or a health club?+
Club in the social sense only: no fee, no premises of our own, no equipment, nothing to sign. A private health club sells access to a gym floor, a spa or a treatment menu, which is a different business from a group that meets in the evening to compare notes. Many members do hold a gym membership somewhere in Vienna, and the two sit together perfectly well. Taking part here costs nothing, there is no fitness requirement and no waiting list, and how often you show up is your call.
Is there a longevity center in Vienna?+
Yes, Vienna has several private longevity centres, and Longevity Vienna is not one of them. Commercial providers in and around the first district sell cryo chambers, hyperbaric oxygen sessions, infusion protocols and large check ups on a private pay basis, and that market has grown quickly. We have no premises, no treatment rooms and no booking page. What the community adds is the part the brochures leave out, because members who spent the money usually say plainly whether the result justified it. The Spots map lists addresses as a starting point.
Where can I find a longevity doctor, clinic or anti ageing treatment in Vienna?+
We cannot refer you to anyone, because Longevity Vienna offers no treatments and employs no medical staff. The city has private practices working with a preventive, functional or anti ageing focus, alongside the public system built around the Medical University of Vienna and the AKH. In a field this young the quality varies a lot, so a first hand account is worth more than a directory entry. Our Spots map collects longevity friendly practices and labs that members have actually visited. For anything clinical, your own doctor stays the sensible first stop.
What does longevity medicine mean, and do you practise it in Vienna?+
Longevity medicine is the clinical end of the topic: doctors who use bloodwork, imaging and functional testing to estimate how well somebody is ageing, then adjust training, nutrition, sleep and sometimes medication. Longevity Vienna does none of that. We are a free community, so we discuss the same measurements without ordering, interpreting or charging for any of them. Several Vienna practices advertise under that label, and members who went through such a programme describe how it went at meetups. Anything with your name on a lab report belongs with a doctor.
Do you run longevity seminars, courses or talks in Vienna?+
We run free talks and workshops, not a paid seminar programme. Search for a longevity seminar and you mostly land on academies and universities charging a day rate for a certificate, which is a fair offer and simply not what happens here. Our evenings look more like a lecture followed by an argument: someone from research or practice speaks for around half an hour, then the room asks questions until the venue wants to close. Themes rotate through biological age, sleep, nutrition, training and supplements with real trial data behind them.
What longevity events, meetups and biohacking sessions happen in Vienna?+
Three formats carry the Vienna calendar: open meetups where conversation is the whole point, expert talks with a researcher or clinician, and workshops where you try a method on the spot. Community challenges run alongside, a shared habit held for a few weeks with everybody posting how it went. Biohacking sits inside that mix rather than in a separate club, so a wearable comparison can share a month with a talk on epigenetic clocks. Dates appear on this page, in the events feed and in the Vienna WhatsApp group.
Is Longevity Vienna free, or do events cost anything?+
Yes. Membership costs nothing and almost every event is free to attend, with no premium tier and no sales call three days later. Now and then a format carries a real cost that gets passed straight through, for example when a venue charges entry or a lab charges for a measurement, and the listing says so before you sign up. Everything else stays open: the talks, the bilingual guides and the free biological age tool on this site. Being free also means nobody pays us to recommend them.
How do I join Longevity Vienna and how does signing up work?+
Pick whichever costs you the least effort: a free account on this site, the Vienna WhatsApp group, or simply walking into the next event. No form, no interview, no approval step. The WhatsApp group tends to be the fastest route, because dates, room changes and questions land there before anywhere else. Instagram and LinkedIn carry the same announcements if you would rather read along quietly for a few weeks first. Arriving on your own is completely normal, and bringing somebody with you is fine too.
Where can I test my biological age in Vienna (DEXA, VO2max, extended blood panel)?+
Vienna is well supplied here: sports medicine practices with VO2max testing, private labs running extended panels and epigenetic clocks, gyms with DEXA or InBody machines. None of it happens through us and we take a commission from nobody. Before spending money, the free biological age tool on this site gives you a rough first read from questions you answer at home. Members post prices and findings in the group, which spares you an expensive measurement whose report then leaves you on your own.
Does Longevity Vienna cover the rest of Austria?+
Vienna is the Austrian hub of this community, so people searching anywhere in the country for a longevity group tend to land here first. The meetups themselves take place in Vienna, while the free account, the bilingual guides, the biological age tool and the online side of the community work from Bregenz to Eisenstadt. If you live in Lower Austria or Burgenland, Vienna is often the nearest evening you can reach by train and still get home from. Want a group closer to your door, say so in the community.
Does Longevity Vienna organise community runs, cold plunges or sauna meetups for members?+
The fixed programme is meetups, talks and workshops rather than a sports calendar of its own. Members still organise themselves informally, which a city with the Prater, the Donauinsel and a public bath in nearly every district makes easy enough. If you would like to lead a run along the Donaukanal or a cold water morning at the Alte Donau, propose it in the WhatsApp group and see who answers, since that is usually how a new format begins. Nothing is compulsory and attendance is never counted.
