What is Longevity Nuremberg?

Longevity Nuremberg is a free community across Franconia for people who want more healthy years and prefer evidence to guesswork. The region sits on top of a medical technology cluster: Medical Valley EMN is based next door in Erlangen, the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität splits its faculties between Erlangen and Nuremberg, and a fair number of people at our events work in that field by day. Franconia is also plain-spoken to the bone, which suits the subject. A protocol that cannot explain itself impresses nobody here.

The format is simple: free meetups, a regular Stammtisch (an informal table where people just talk), expert talks and hands-on workshops. Recurring topics are biological age and how it gets measured, bloodwork, sleep, nutrition, strength training and VO2max (roughly, how much oxygen your body can use under load). Biohacking claims get a hearing too, usually a sceptical one. Community challenges run alongside, where members commit to the same habit for a few weeks and compare notes afterwards.

We are a community, not a longevity center, a clinic or a paid health club. Nobody pays a membership fee, nothing gets sold after the talk, and we sell nothing at all. Commercial options do exist in Nuremberg: a private practice trading under the Longevity Center name, preventive-care practices, and labs offering direct blood panels. Members compare notes openly on what was worth the money. Those addresses sit on our community Spots map next to gyms and studios in Nuremberg, Fürth and Erlangen. A listing is not a medical endorsement, and the judgement stays with you.

The people who turn up range from beginners who just finished their first book about ageing to doctors, medtech engineers and members who have tracked their own bloodwork for a decade. To start, make a free account, join the Nuremberg WhatsApp group, or simply walk into the next event. There is no application and no approval step.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Nuremberg?+
Longevity Nuremberg is a free community for people in and around Nuremberg who want to stay healthy for longer and want the evidence behind the advice. We meet at free meetups, a Stammtisch, expert talks and workshops covering bloodwork, sleep, training and biological age. Anyone can come, whether you have read fifty papers on ageing or none at all. There is no fee, no membership tier, and nothing on sale at the back of the room.
Is there a longevity center in Nuremberg?+
Nuremberg does have commercial longevity offerings, among them a private practice trading under the Longevity Center name, but Longevity Nuremberg is not one of them. We are a free community with no diagnostics, no treatments and no programme to buy. If a paid provider is what you need, our community Spots map lists practices, labs and studios across the metropolitan region, and members will tell you frankly what a given panel or scan was worth to them. We list places without vetting them medically.
Is Longevity Nuremberg a longevity club or a health club?+
It is a club in the sense of people who meet regularly, not in the sense of a facility with a membership card. There is no gym floor, no spa, no diagnostics suite and no monthly bill. What exists instead is a calendar of free events across Nuremberg and the neighbouring towns, plus a group chat where your question gets answered by someone who already tried the thing you are asking about. Paid health clubs in the region are a separate matter, and several appear on our Spots map.
Where can I find a longevity doctor, clinic or treatment in Nuremberg?+
We cannot refer you to a doctor, because we are a community and not a medical service of any kind. Preventive medicine is well represented around here: Nuremberg and Erlangen have private practices doing extended diagnostics, sports medicine and check-ups, and several labs sell direct panels without a referral. Our Spots map collects the addresses members mention, and at a Stammtisch you can ask someone who has already been. Treat all of that as a starting point and discuss the decision with a physician you trust.
What longevity events, meetups and biohacking sessions happen in Nuremberg?+
The Nuremberg calendar mixes three formats: an informal Stammtisch, expert talks where someone with real depth in a subject presents and takes hard questions, and hands-on workshops. Topics cycle through metabolic health, sleep, strength training, VO2max, biohacking claims and how biological age tests actually work. Community challenges run alongside, where members commit to one habit for a few weeks. Everything is announced on this page, in the events feed and in the Nuremberg WhatsApp group, usually a couple of weeks ahead.
Is Longevity Nuremberg free?+
Yes, and it is not a trial period that quietly ends. Membership costs nothing and almost every event is free to attend, because the chapter runs on volunteers rather than ticket income. The rare exception is a format with a real cost behind it, such as a venue that charges per head, and that price is stated on the event page before you sign up. Our free tools, including the biological age test, and the bilingual guides are open to anyone, account or not.
How do I join Longevity Nuremberg?+
Pick whichever costs you the least effort: create a free account here, join the Nuremberg WhatsApp group, or turn up at the next event without announcing yourself. All three work, and none involves an application, an interview or an approval step. The WhatsApp group is where most day to day questions land. Instagram and LinkedIn carry the dates if you would rather not sit in another chat. At no point will anyone ask you for payment details.
Where can I test my biological age in Nuremberg (DEXA, VO2max, bloodwork)?+
DEXA scans, spiroergometry for VO2max and extended blood panels are all available around Nuremberg, mostly through private practices, sports medicine departments and labs selling direct panels. Our Spots map gathers the places members have actually used, and the group is candid about which report came back readable and which was a pile of numbers. Before you spend anything, our free biological age test gives you a rough first reading, and you can ask in the chat what a sensible starting panel looks like.
Does Longevity Nuremberg cover Fürth, Erlangen and the wider metropolitan region?+
Yes. The chapter is drawn around the Nuremberg metropolitan region rather than the city boundary, so members regularly travel in from Fürth, Erlangen, Schwabach and further out in Franconia. Erlangen matters here in its own right, since Medical Valley EMN and the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität put a lot of medtech and clinical research people within a short train ride. That is exactly why we look for venues near a U-Bahn or S-Bahn stop, and the Spots map covers the whole region too.
Does Longevity Nuremberg host community runs, cold plunges or sauna meetups?+
The Nuremberg mix is currently built around meetups, the Stammtisch, talks and workshops rather than fixed sport formats. Other chapters run community runs, cold plunges and sauna evenings, and nothing stops Nuremberg from doing the same, because formats here start the moment a member offers to host one. The city hands you the obvious options: laps around the Wöhrder See, a loop at the Dutzendteich, or a trail morning in the Reichswald. Suggest it in the WhatsApp group and we will help organise it.
Where in Nuremberg do the meetups take place?+
The venue changes with the format and is always named on the event page, so check there rather than guessing. Indoor formats stay close to the inner city and the ring around the Altstadt, because that is what works for people arriving by train from Fürth or Erlangen. Workshops sometimes sit in a co-working space or a studio. Anything outdoors heads for the Pegnitz and the Wöhrder Wiese. Step-free access gets flagged on the event page whenever we know the answer.
Which language are Longevity Nuremberg events held in?+
German is the default at Nuremberg events, since most of the room is local. English is no obstacle though: speakers switch or summarise as soon as someone asks, which happens often enough given how many people in the region work for international medtech and software employers. The website, the guides and the free tools all exist in English and German. If you are new to the city and your German is still shaky, say so in the chat before you come.
