What is Longevity Zurich ?

Longevity Zurich runs as a free, evidence-first community for anyone here who wants more good years, and it forms the Zurich chapter of Longevity Switzerland. Raw material is abundant. ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich publish ageing research a tram ride from Bellevue, while the private prevention market around Enge and Seefeld sells check-ups at prices that make most people pause. We stand outside that market and nobody is selling you a package here.

Meeting is the whole activity. Free meetups where the room carries the evening, talks given by researchers and clinicians, workshops you take part in with your hands, and challenges the group keeps up for a few weeks. Certain topics return again and again: biological age, sleep, nutrition, strength work, Zone 2 cardio, VO2max (a measure of the oxygen you can process at full effort) and what a blood panel does and does not reveal. Biohacking is a permanent fixture, generally followed within a minute by someone asking for the study.

Some obvious boundaries. Longevity Zurich runs no centre, no clinic, no paid health club and no coaching business. Belonging is free and there is nothing on sale. A dense commercial scene does exist in the city, from preventive medicine centres in Kreis 2 to personal trainers advertising longevity training and labs running DEXA scans and VO2max tests. Members trade honest verdicts on what repaid the money. Spots, the community map, gathers what is nearby: laboratories, gyms, studios and practices that describe themselves as longevity friendly. It is a place to begin, since we check nobody medically.

Doctors, ETH researchers, founders, finance people and beginners who read one book all show up. Talks happen in German or in English depending who is speaking, with a good deal of Swiss German once the formal part ends, so either language gets you through the evening. Starting takes a minute: register free on this site, ask into the Zurich WhatsApp group, or simply arrive at the next event. Nothing has to be applied for and nobody approves you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Zurich?+
Longevity Zurich gathers people around healthspan, prevention and self-experimentation that respects the evidence, and it acts as the Zurich chapter of Longevity Switzerland. Meetups, expert talks and workshops stand open to anyone in the region, free and without prerequisites. Clinicians and ETH researchers end up beside people who started reading about ageing four weeks ago. Nothing gets sold at our gatherings, and no one has to demonstrate a level of knowledge at the door. Reading a study abstract, or wanting to learn how, is qualification enough.
Is Longevity Zurich a longevity club or a health club?+
Only in the social meaning of the word: no fee, no premises, no equipment. A private health club in the city sells access to its gym floor and its spa. From us you get people who read the same journals and gather in the evening to disagree about them. Anyone living in or around the city can take part, without a waiting list or a referral. If a members-only wellness address is what you were after, Spots shows what the city genuinely offers.
Is there a longevity center in Zurich?+
Yes, the city holds several private longevity centres, and ours is not one of them. Commercial prevention centres sit mostly in Kreis 2 near the lake and work on a private-pay basis, with check-ups pairing bloodwork and imaging with an estimated biological age. What we run instead is a free community: no medical service, no rooms of our own, nothing to book. The community does hold people who went through those check-ups and will tell you straight what the report bought them. Spots lists local addresses to start from.
Where can I find a longevity doctor, clinic or treatment in Zurich?+
A referral is not something we can give, since no treatments and no medical staff belong to this community. The city offers private practices in preventive and functional medicine, specialists based in Seefeld and Zollikon, and the public system built around the Universitätsspital. Spots gathers the longevity friendly practices and laboratories members have walked into themselves, and we perform no medical checks on any of them. Put the question to the group and a frank first-hand reply usually arrives inside a day, which beats a marketing page.
Does Longevity Zurich offer longevity training or a training programme?+
No. There is no training on sale, no trainer on our books and no bookable programme. Longevity training ranks among the most searched phrases in the city, and personal training studios in Kreis 2 and Zurich West push it hard. Our free talks and workshops supply the reasoning instead: why strength work keeps surfacing in ageing research, how Zone 2 cardio ought to feel, what a VO2max figure actually describes. Where you train afterwards is your call. Members compare which studios in town treat the evidence seriously, and Spots marks gyms and studios close by.
Can Longevity Zurich provide a biohacking coach?+
No coach is under contract with us, so none can be assigned to you. This is a peer community: whoever sits beside you at a meetup might have three years of sleep tracking on their phone and will gladly scroll through it, yet nobody draws a fee for guiding you. Biohacking coaches and performance studios advertising exactly that service do operate in the city, and members who hired one talk honestly about how it went. To learn it yourself, the workshops and the free bilingual guides cover the same material.
What longevity events, meetups and biohacking sessions happen in Zurich?+
Three formats keep the local calendar going: meetups where the room carries the evening, talks given by a researcher or a clinician, and workshops with something to try on the spot. Themes move between sleep, nutrition, biological age testing, training and supplements with genuine trial data attached. Community challenges run alongside: one shared habit, held for two or three weeks, with everybody reporting back. Dates land in the events feed here, and the Zurich WhatsApp group usually has them first. Nothing costs anything and arriving alone is ordinary.
Is Longevity Zurich free?+
Yes. Membership is free and nearly every event costs nothing to attend. No tier system exists, no annual fee, no upsell at the door, which is worth something in a city where prevention normally arrives as a private-pay affair. Occasionally an event carries a genuine cost passed straight on, say a venue charging entry or a laboratory billing for a test, and the listing states that before anyone signs up. The guides and the biological age check remain free regardless.
How do I join Longevity Zurich?+
Three doors, all of them open immediately: register free on this site, get yourself into the Zurich WhatsApp group, or arrive at the next event unannounced. No form waits for approval, no interview happens, and nobody assesses whether you belong. WhatsApp suits most people best, since dates, late changes and questions surface there before anywhere else. The same announcements go out on Instagram and LinkedIn, useful if you would rather read along for a while before appearing in person.
Where can I test my biological age in Zurich (DEXA, VO2max, bloodwork)?+
DEXA scans of body composition, VO2max ramp testing and long blood panels are all easy to arrange here, across sports medicine practices, private laboratories and a couple of gyms holding lab-grade equipment. None of it happens through us. This site hosts a free biological age check that produces a rough estimate from a short questionnaire, which is a sensible move before paying for anything. Members post prices and experiences openly, and Spots marks laboratories and studios across the city so you can compare before booking.
Which language are Longevity Zurich events held in?+
German and English, chosen per event and named in the listing. A large international crowd lives here, so plenty of talks happen in English while the small talk slides into Swiss German the moment people relax. Where a speaker presents in German, questions in English remain welcome and somebody will translate. Anyone searching for longévité in Zurich is welcome too, though French language events are not something we run at present. No one is expected to perform in a language that makes them uncomfortable.
Where in Zurich do you meet, and does the chapter cover the wider region?+
Meetups rotate through the city instead of settling into a single venue, so an evening can end up in Kreis 4, in Zurich West near Hardbrücke or nearer the lake, and the listing always names the precise address. Being the Zurich hub of Longevity Switzerland, the chapter pulls people in from Winterthur, Zug and Baden, since the S-Bahn keeps the trip short. Living further out is no obstacle: the community feed and the bilingual guides work with no commute involved.
