What is Longevity Munich?

Longevity Munich is the founding chapter of this community, and it is free: no fee to belong, none for almost anything we run. We read what the ageing research says, then argue about how it fits into an ordinary Munich week. The city helps with that. The gravel banks at the Flaucher are a twenty minute cycle from most offices, the Englischer Garten takes runners at any hour, and one early S-Bahn puts you under the Alps before lunch. Munich is a research town too: LMU, the TU München campus in Garching, the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried.

Most months bring a meetup or an expert talk, plus workshops where you do something with your hands: read a blood panel, plan a strength block, fix a sleep schedule. Speakers are expected to cite their sources. The recurring topics are biological age, nutrition, VO2max, bloodwork, recovery and the biohacking claims that thin out once you open the study behind them. Some mornings a small group trains before work, and community challenges run alongside the calendar for people who would rather build a habit with company.

Search for a longevity center in Munich and you will find private practices, hormone and anti-ageing clinics, diagnostic studios and coaches, most of them in central Munich or around Schwabing. We are none of those. Longevity Munich sells nothing, has no doctors on staff and offers no treatment, no testing and no paid programme. What we have instead is a room full of people who already paid for those things and will tell you how the appointment really went, plus a community Spots map listing local labs, gyms, studios and longevity friendly practices, which we do not vet medically.

Newcomers arrive with no background at all. So do GPs, sports scientists, founders and people who have tracked their own bloodwork since before anyone used the word longevity. Membership is a free account, there is a Munich WhatsApp group, and no one has to be approved by anybody. The next date is on this page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Longevity Munich?+
Longevity Munich is a free community in Munich for people who want to stay healthy for longer, and it was the first chapter of what is now Longevity Germany. Meetups, expert talks and workshops run through the year, open to anyone, nearly always at no cost. Nobody is selling a programme here. The idea is that people who read the ageing research, people who work in medicine and people who are simply curious end up in the same room and swap what has worked for them.
Is Longevity Munich a longevity club or a health club?+
In the everyday sense of the word you can call Longevity Munich a club, though not the kind you pay for. There is no membership fee, no gym floor, no locker room, no minimum term. Munich does have private health clubs and members-only longevity clubs, and a few of our people belong to them. We are the free layer next to that market: open events, a shared chat and a map of local spots, with nothing sitting behind a card.
Is there a longevity center in Munich?+
Munich has several commercial longevity centers, but Longevity Munich is not one of them and does not run one. The city holds a dense cluster of private prevention practices and longevity centers, mostly in central Munich and around Schwabing, offering check-ups, imaging, infusions and coaching at private rates. We sit next to that market rather than inside it. Our Spots map shows what exists locally, members compare experiences in the open, and nobody at an event earns anything from where you decide to go.
Where can I find a longevity doctor, practice or clinic in Munich?+
We cannot send you to a named doctor, because we are a community rather than a medical referrer. Munich is well supplied here: private practices with longevity check-ups, cardiology and internal medicine teams that added prevention, hormone and anti-ageing practices, plus the university hospitals at Grosshadern and rechts der Isar for anything genuinely clinical. With symptoms, start at your Hausarzt. For the private end, the Spots map and one question in the group get you first-hand accounts instead of an advert.
Can Longevity Munich recommend a longevity coach in Munich?+
Longevity Munich employs no coaches and sells no coaching, so there is no appointment to book with us. If you want one-to-one work, Munich has personal trainers, nutrition therapists and doctors who market themselves as longevity coaches, at prices that vary wildly. Before booking, ask in the community what a session with a given provider actually involved. Quite a few members found that a written training plan plus a fixed sleep schedule got them further than paid coaching did.
What longevity events, meetups and biohacking sessions happen in Munich?+
The Munich calendar runs on meetups, expert talks and hands-on workshops, with community challenges in between and the occasional early training session before work. Topics cycle through biological age, nutrition, strength training, VO2max, sleep and the biohacking gadgets people keep asking about. Dates appear on this page, in the events feed and in the Munich WhatsApp group, usually a couple of weeks ahead. If you have been looking for a biohacking club in Munich, this is the free version of that idea.
Is Longevity Munich free?+
Yes, joining Longevity Munich costs nothing, and almost every event is free to attend as well. There is no membership tier, no trial that quietly turns into a subscription, no card to show at the door. Once in a while a format carries a small cost because a venue or a measurement has to be paid for, and that is stated on the event page before you sign up. Everything else, guides and the biological age tool included, is open to anyone with an account.
How do I join Longevity Munich?+
Take whichever route is easiest: set up a free account here, ask to be added to the Munich WhatsApp group, or turn up at the next event and say hello. There is no application, no interview, no waiting list. Most people come alone the first time, which is completely normal, and someone will introduce you around if you want. Following the chapter on Instagram works too if you only want the dates without the group chat.
Where can I test my biological age in Munich (DEXA, VO2max, bloodwork)?+
Munich has plenty of places to measure the things longevity people care about: DEXA scans for body composition, spiroergometry for VO2max at sports medicine practices, and private labs running extended blood panels. We test nobody ourselves. Our free biological age tool gives you a rough starting point online, while the Spots map points at labs, studios and gyms around the city. Ask in the group before you book, since members usually know which panel is worth the money.
Where in Munich do you meet, and do you cover the surrounding area?+
Locations move around the city, so one evening sits in Maxvorstadt, the next in the Werksviertel behind Ostbahnhof or somewhere in Schwabing, always near an S-Bahn or U-Bahn stop. Each event page carries the exact address. Plenty of regulars travel in from Dachau, Freising, Starnberg or Fürstenfeldbruck, and the chapter treats the whole S-Bahn area as Munich. Outdoor formats tend to end up along the Isar or in the Englischer Garten when the weather allows it.
Are Longevity Munich events held in German or in English?+
Events run in German or English depending on the speaker and who is in the room. Munich has a large international workforce, so whole evenings switch to English as soon as somebody asks, and slides are often in English regardless. Written material, the guides and this site included, exists in both languages. If neither language is perfect for you, that has never caused a problem here, since most of the technical vocabulary is identical in German and English.
How does Longevity Munich relate to Longevity Germany?+
Munich was the first chapter, and the network that grew out of it now runs as Longevity Germany with sister chapters in other cities and countries. In practice that means shared tools, shared bilingual guides and speakers who travel between cities, while each chapter picks its own topics and venues. People from Munich sometimes go to events in Berlin or Vienna, and anyone moving here from another chapter keeps the same free account. Founding status changes nothing about how membership works.
